Prof Catriona Mackenzie
SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Catriona Mackenzie is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at Macquarie University. Prior to her retirement, she was a Distinguished Professor and founding Director of the Macquarie University Research Centre for Agency, Values and Ethics (CAVE) from 2011-2020. She has extensive experience in research leadership, development, and strategy. She was Associate Dean Research for the Faculty of Arts from 2013-18, and has served on several ARC Selection Advisory Committees, as well as the College of Experts. Other previous roles include Chair of the Macquarie University Human Research Ethics Committee (2000-2004), President of the Australasian Association of Philosophy (2014), and Chair of the Board of the Australasian Association of Philosophy (2020-2022).
Mackenzie’s research expertise is in social, moral and political philosophy, philosophical moral psychology, feminist philosophy and applied ethics. She is a Fellow of the Australian Humanities Academy, was awarded the 2007 Australian Museum Eureka Prize for Research in Ethics, and is the recipient of University awards for research leadership, graduate supervision and teaching.
