Prof Sue Martin
SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Sue Martin is Emeritus Professor in the Department of Creative Arts and English at La Trobe University. She was Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor Research for the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce 2015-19, driving research strategy and development for researchers and RHDs in the Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences, Law, Education and Business. Prior to that she served as an Associate Dean, Research.
Sue has researched and published extensively in Australian literary studies, the teaching of Australian literature and book culture, and presented nationally on research management and research metrics. She was President of the Association for the Study of Australian Literature (2015-2017), and a member of DASSH working groups including the Research Quality Indicators report team.
Sue was a member of the national ARC ERA2018 Research Evaluation Committee for HCA, and has a special interest in ERA, rankings, and the ANZSRCS particularly as they apply to HASS and Business disciplines. She been a CI on multiple ARC grants, and has served as an Assessor for many years across most of the ARC Categories, and for the NZ Marsden Fund. She has served as a Judge on Literary Awards including the Magarey Medal, the ALS Gold Medal, the Barbara Jefferis Award and the Copyright Agency Author Fellowships.
