Ms Rachael Vorwerk
Rachael is a science communicator and freelance consultant that has been published in Cosmos, Eingana and CSIRO’s Double Helix magazine. She has helped scientists to share their stories in BBC World News, The Independent, ABC and The Age, among others.
With almost a decade of science communication experience, Rachael has worked closely with researchers spanning bushfire preparedness and physics, to social science and zoology. Rachael has conducted her own science communication research into the ABC’s War on Waste television series, investigating its widespread positive environmental behaviour change in Australia.
Rachael’s research interests include entertainment-education interventions, environmental communication, communication for social change and natural hazard preparedness communication. Her professional interests include science writing, keeping up with emerging technologies like virtual reality and augmented reality, stakeholder engagement, client liaison, coaching, mentoring, social media engagement and workshop facilitation.
