Prof Mitch Duncan

Professor Mitch Duncan is a Research Fellow at the University of Newcastle. As a behavioural scientist Mitch’s expertise is in the role of physical activity and sleep and other lifestyle behaviours as determinants of health and wellbeing. He also has expertise in the design and evaluation of digital interventions to improve these behaviours.
Mitch has a PhD in Public Health and 15 years of experience as a researcher. He has been a CI on numerous research projects funded by the NHMRC (Project, Partnership, Fellowship), ARC (Linkage and Discovery), and the National Heart Foundation (Project, Fellowship).
He has served as a panel member for a number of national (NHMRC, NHF) and international (Health Research Council of New Zealand) funding agencies, and has also been a grant assessor for many national (ARC, NHMRC) and international funding agencies.
