Ms Marge Overs

Marge Overs is a health writer, editor and communications specialist. She has worked in senior roles in publishing and communications in the private sector, government and not-for-profit organisations.

Originally a journalist, Marge has focused on public health and research communications since completing a Master of Public Health at the University of Sydney in 2013.

She is passionate about the need for effective science and research communications and has trained with the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University, New York. Marge works closely with researchers to communicate the findings and impact of their work. She facilitates workshops for researchers in plain language writing and science communications.

Marge has devised and implemented communications strategies for national organisations, including research centres, and launched and managed publications. She has high-level skills across the publishing and digital communications process, from stakeholder consultation and concept development and strategy, to commissioning, writing, editing and production.
