Emeritus Professor Ian Hunter

Ian is an emeritus professor in the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities, at the University of Queensland. Prior to that he was Deputy Director of the predecessor research centre (Centre for the History of European Discourses, 2001-2012), and an ARC Senior Research Fellow at the University of Queensland (2002-2012) and, earlier, at Griffith University (2000-2002). Ian has extensive experience in providing expert advice on ARC research grants and research centre bids, and running associated workshops, having supplied these services to Swinburne University, RMIT, UniSA, QUT, and the University of Melbourne. He also remains an active and widely published researcher in the field of intellectual history, specifically in the history of early modern political thought where he is an internationally renowned expert.
