Building Research Strengths for Impact in Priority Domains

This half-day or day impact planning workshop is designed for universities (at School, Faculty, or Whole of University level) seeking to understand their current and potential strength for impact delivery in areas of national priority and strategic importance, and to support planning for focused and impactful research efforts in these areas. These areas may include (for example) health, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, agriculture, food industries, sustainability, water, air quality, disability, ageing, exercise, social cohesion, educational innovation, tourism, regional planning, social care, creative industries, sex and gender, poverty and so forth. Topics include: targeted research and development impact, targeted societal impact, structural options, and SWOT analysis.
Duration: 3 hours or 6 hours, in-person or online

Dr Thomas Keenan
Dr Keenan formed Tractuum as an impact management consultancy company in September 2019. From November 2016 until August 2019 he was the Senior Advisor – Planning, Performance & Impact for the CSIRO. During this period, he led the Impact Team which oversaw the planning, monitoring, and evaluation of CSIRO’s impact, working with both research units and enterprise support services on the development and implementation of impact pathways and associated monitoring plans, and the completion of impact case studies.
