Leonie Pearson (Ph.D. GAICD, GC(Ter.Edu.)) is an economist, social scientist and research leader working at the forefront of systems, environment, and resilience science. She started her career in geography and fluvial geomorphology, migrated quickly to economics and decision making and now operates at the interface of social and ecological systems.
As an internationally recognised leader in ecological economics, she has worked in government, not-for-profit, academia and private practice. Leonie has secured over $50 million in research funding in Australia and across South East Asia, delivered innovative research impact (e.g TEDx, podcast, The Conversation) and changed policy (City Deals, Tourism, National Parks, Water management etc).
This diversity of experience has resulted in her ability to support impactful writing for money and academic outputs, and an exceptional capacity to manage and incentivise ECR’s and teams to deliver great research outputs and impacts.
