Our approach with strategic planning

A typical strategic planning project involves an initial phase of scoping and discussion to identify what a university, or faculty, is seeking to change, improve or grow. We then negotiate a plan of work involving data analysis, consultation and workshopping ideas to build and connect research capacity. Senior Associates combine their expertise so we can target discipline specific advice exactly where it is needed, working in teams to cover significant disciplinary ground. Where possible we will involve academics and stakeholders in the project from the outset, providing a "provocation" paper to stimulate ambitious and creative ideas for strategic change.

When the academic context and emerging ideas have been explored, Outside Opinion will draft options for strategic action translating the discussion into a tangible plan. We can help articulate mission, vision and strategic goals, backed up with specific actions and supported by advice on communicating and implementing the change. Our approach is consultative, inclusive, ambitious and results focussed and we have received generous feedback from our clients at QUT, Univeristy of Sydney, La Trobe University, University of Newcastle, University of Melbourne and the University of Canberra.
