Prof Nicholas Aroney

Professor Nicholas Aroney

SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Nicholas Aroney is Professor of Constitutional Law and Director of the Centre for Comparative, International and Comparative Law at The University of Queensland, a Senior Fellow of the Centre for Law and Religion at Emory University, and a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia and the Australian Academy of Law. He has published over 160 journal articles, book chapters and books in the fields of constitutional law, comparative constitutional law and legal and political theory. He has led several international research projects in comparative federalism, bicameralism, legal pluralism, and law & religion, and he speaks frequently at international conferences on these topics. He has extensive experience advising on research grant applications, having received a four-year ARC Future Fellowship in 2010 and two ARC Discovery Grants in 2012 and 2021. He was also a chief investigator on a European Union project funded by the Austrian Science Fund (Fonds zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung) in 2019 and an ARC LIEF Grant in 2023.
