Professor Claudia Vickers

Claudia is Director of BioBuilt Solutions and holds Adjunct Professorships at Queensland University of Technology (ARC Centre of Excellence in Synthetic Biology, Centre for Agriculture and the Bioeconomy) and Griffith University (Griffith Institute for Drug Discovery). She has over 25 years' experience in academia, government research, and industry. She has contributed to policy and strategy roadmaps for Australian federal and state governments, and for national and international governmental and non-governmental organisations (including the World Economic Forum and the OECD). Claudia has played many key roles in development of national and international synthetic biology capability, including: Founding President, Synthetic Biology Australasia; Inaugural Director of CSIRO's synthetic biology program; member of the inaugural Executive of the Global Biofoundries Alliance; Co-chair, World Economic Forum Global Future Council on Synthetic Biology; advisory board to the OECD on synthetic biology; advisory board for Food Standards Australia New Zealand. Claudia is passionate about scientific writing and has developed and run many writing workshops.
